via Caduti di Cefalonia, 17 - San Vito dei Normanni (BR) - ITALY
Salento attracts every year an increasing number of tourists from all over the world, thanks to its colours, its flavours, its folkloristic and gastronomic traditions. Our farm is placed in this context, more precisely in the so called Alto Salento.
Our olive groves are located in the countryside around San Vito dei Normanni (BR) and Brindisi. The total area is 10 hectares, 98 ares and 17 centiares (about 27 acres) and it is almost entirely well-irrigated.
There are 2200 olive trees as a whole. Among them there are about 220 ancient trees with a very wide crown, 70% of the “Ogliarola Salentina” cultivar and 30% of the “Cellina di Nardò” cultivar. The remaining part, grown with the intensive cultivation method, includes the following cultivars: "Cima di Melfi", "Frantoio", "Maiatica di Ferrandina" and "Coratina".
We recently planted 250 trees of “Favolosa” and 250 trees of “Minerva” cultivar.
Rich in flavours and scents, this region is inevitably rich in olive varieties, too. Ogliarola, Cellina and Coratina are considered as high-quality cultivars; we chose to add to them the Cima di Melfi and the Maiatica di Ferrandina, regarded as excellent varieties as well, and the Frantoio, widespread all over Italy.
For these reasons, every bottle of our olive oil is a precious box,
which contains some of the most pleasent scents and flavours of our wonderful Puglia.
